I had the good fortune to move to Barnet in the 1960s where I brought up my 2 children. Over the years I have been involved with various local organisations - schools, youth clubs, scouts, estate committee - activities that have given me a wide experience of life in East and New Barnet and as curator at Barnet Museum I certainly have an appreciation of the history of the area. Recently, as a result of the proposed retail development in New Barnet, I have become involved with the Save New Barnet Campaign.

If you elect me:

• I will strive to ensure that the opinions of local people are listened to and respected by the Council;
• I will battle to both preserve and improve the streetscape and the built environment;
• I will seek more lesiure opportunities especially for young people and the retired;
• I will closely scutinise Council spending to ensure that your council tax is spent wisely;
• I will simply act in the best interest of the community - full stop.
