We have been in discussions with Mr Martin Abraham, Consumer Affairs Manager, Governance Consumer & Social Affairs at OFGEM since January. OFGEM are responsible for setting the minimum levels of compensation payable by National Grid in the event of a failure of the gas supply. So far we have identified that the £30 minimum payment level was set as far back as 2002,and that OFGEM chose not to review that figure in 2008. We will continue to press them to change the rules and exert more pressure on National Grid to improve their offer.
